Covid-19 vaccine

NCL Wide

As part of the national programme for Covid-19 vaccinations, general practices were asked to play a role in the delivery of vaccinations to the NCL population, along with all health and care providers. This initiative involves a range of delivery models such as large vaccination sites, mobile sites, primary care-led and pharmacy sites, with each opening in a series of phases.

For detailed information on Covid-19 vaccination, see the drop-down menu topics on the left.

Covid-19 vaccination walk-in clinics

Residents across NCL can visit a walk-in clinic to get their Covid-19 vaccine.

Covid-19 vaccination allergy service

See the Covid-19 Vaccination Allergy Service page for information about how to manage patients who are demonstrating symptoms of Covid-19 vaccine allergy.

Vaccine schedule for under-18s

The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation currently advise that people aged 5-17 who are not in an at-risk group should have their second dose 12 weeks after their first dose. This guidance is based on emerging evidence of a decreased risk of myocarditis when the gap between doses is greater than eight weeks. The schedule is detailed in the green book, chapter 14a, page 12.

Latest guidance

The latest guidance on vaccines for clinicians and NHS managers continues to be published by NHS England and NHS Improvement.

For further information on the NCL programme, practices are advised to contact their borough’s primary care team in the first instance.
