BSCP Bite-Sized Training: Physical Chastisement and Cultural Competency

Barnet Safeguarding Children's Partnership (BSCP) is pleased to deliver a series of bite-sized one hour webinars to outline new practice statements on physical chastisement and cultural competency; designed to support effective multi-agency safeguarding practice.

Physical chastisement

The webinars will look at the current legislative framework in England, recognising recent changes to the law in Wales. An area that can often cause confusion, we will seek to provide a foundation for confident multi-agency safeguarding practice. The webinars will be attended by Rachel Cartwright, Social Care Duty & Assessment Team Social Worker, who will provide some insights and case examples.

Cultural competency

The webinars will seek to introduce our new practice statement upon cultural competency, designed to give practitioners greater confidence working with children and families through a cultural intersectional lens. The webinar will be attended by Charlene Townsend, Barnet national management graduate and member of the Anti-Racism Action Group.

These sessions are open to all so please feel free to forward to your networks.

Each session is the same so you only need to attend one.
