Following on from the success of previous events we present a day of teaching on children and young people’s health. As before we will cover a wide range of topics including urological problems (enuresis, UTI); abdominal pain – when to investigate, when to refer; eating disorders – a growing issue in our population; social and communication assessment with a focus on autistic spectrum disorders; the 6week check – what should I be doing and what does it mean when it’s not normal?; common winter presentations – bronchiolitis, pneumonia etc and more.
The day will also incorporate opportunities to meet members of teams from the wider child health system, allowing opportunity to make connections, increase knowledge and awareness of wider services that are available to us all and to understand how to access support and advice for ourselves and our patients.
There will be morning and afternoon sessions – final agenda to be confirmed shortly.
Previous sessions have been very well received – all teaching has a focus on the role of primary care and uses case-based examples and discussions. A fantastic opportunity to brush up skills and learn more about emerging issues.
