Coaching for Health: Bitesize Sessions September/October (1/4)

Starting from April 2022, Osca will be helping deliver a multi-year programme, building on the popular Coaching for Health courses which have been running across NCL since 2011.

Alongside these Personalised Care Institute (PCI) accredited bitesize sessions, there will also be an opportunity for interested professionals to become trainers in the programme.

Coaching-style conversations can improve health outcomes, increase patient satisfaction, improve practitioner wellbeing and morale, and reduce the use of NHS resources.

These PCI-accredited bitesize Coaching for Health sessions will be available to primary care staff and led by two highly experienced health coaching trainers, one of whom is a clinician.

The sessions will cover:

  • An introduction to a coaching approach for behavioural change
  • Coaching skills for building openness, trust and willingness
  • Frameworks for structuring brief health coaching interventions
  • Setting effective goals with patients that encourage self-care
  • Shared decision making and care planning techniques

Course 1: Wednesday 27 April (Session 1), 4 May (Session 2), 11 May (Session 3) and 25 May (Session 4)

Course 2: Wednesday 21 September (Session 1), 28 September (Session 2), 5 October (Session 3) and 19 October (Session 4)

Sessions 1 and 2 will run from 1.30-3.30pm, while Sessions 3 and 4 will run from 1.30-3pm.
