NHSE have written to PCN sites regarding vaccination of Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) cohort 6. This includes patients with a learning disabilitiy (LD) and carers. Practices and practice managers can support LD patients to obtain a Covid-19 vaccination by:

• considering a home visit for those with severe LD or anxieties that prevent them attending a vaccine site
• engaging with the Islington LD Partnership Team to identify those patients with LD who maybe missed
• vaccinating carers, including parents of LD patients where they are living together

We are currently trying to arrange set clinics for those people who may not be able to queue for long or require more time in a quieter environment to attend the PCN vaccine clinics and will update you when the dates have been set. An easy-read Covid vaccine leaflet is also available.
