Programme eligibility criteria for the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme has now been expanded to include women with a past diagnosis of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) and a normoglycaemic blood reading within the last 12 months (temporarily extended to 24 months until 1 April 2021). This is a permanent change to eligibility criteria.
The NHS Diabetes Prevention continues to accept routine referrals. The service is being delivered entirely remotely. If you are unable to obtain an eligible blood test for a patient due to pressures on phlebotomy services, there is a temporarily available self-referral route.
