In light of the rapidly developing situation with coronavirus and the exponential rise in cases due to the Omicron variation, you will be aware the NHS is required to take immediate steps to support the vaccine programme and free up capacity to support increased patient discharge and prevention of admission. 

Like other NHS and public sector organisations across the country, this is the highest priority for CLCH and the situation is changing on a daily basis. CLCH is working closely with our partners at a regional level and following all the national guidance as it is released.  We are following measures from NHS England, the Health Security Agency and the Department of Health & Social Care to protect patients and NHS staff whilst minimising the impact on wider health services.  

As the situation currently presents itself, as well as managing the rapid boost of vaccine programmes, our highest area of risk is sickness and Covid related absences within our staff. To this end, CLCH is formally triggering our business continuity plans as an organisation and at a service level in order to maintain core services whilst freeing up capacity of clinical staff for the Covid response.
