The Covid vaccination programme is now well under way but it remains imperative that we strive to expand capacity within primary care to continue to deliver the vaccine to as many individuals as possible.
To be able to deliver the vaccines, all individuals are required to undergo training which will vary depending upon their previous experience.
For detailed information on the training, please read this Covid-19 Vaccinator Roles and Training Requirements document. Presently, there are two main routes:
- training for registered vaccinators
- training for non-registered vaccinators
Training for registered vaccinators who will be administering the vaccines is available through the e-Learning for Health online module or by attending the webinars delivered by Dr David Elliman and Christine Ogundele.
These webinars will cover both vaccines, the Covid-19 mRNA Vaccine BNT162b2 Pfizer/BioNTech and the Covid-19 Vaccine Oxford/AstraZeneca (AstraZeneca). Attendance at these will qualify you to administer assuming you are already a registered vaccinator.
If you attended the webinar training held last year before Christmas, you will need to either complete the e-Learning specifically for Covid-19 Vaccine Oxford/AstraZeneca through e-LfH, or, re-attend one of the sessions below.
Please note the webinars are for registered vaccinators only.
See January trainings below.
