Domestic Violence: Silent Solution Connects to 999 Police Help
Silent Solution is a police system used to help people who are unable to speak but genuinely need police assistance, such as in domestic violence situations. It also helps to filter large numbers of accidental 999 calls. If calling 999 from a mobile phone, the caller should press 55 after the recorded message. This lets the call operator know it is an emergency and to connect the call to the police. If the caller cannot speak, they are asked to cough or tap the keys on their phone in response to questions. Please raise awareness with vulnerable patients and display the poster.
