Health and Wellbeing Boards (HWB) in NCL boroughs are currently consulting on their draft Pharmaceutical Needs Assessments (PNA) 2022.  

The PNA provides a comprehensive account of pharmaceutical health needs in a borough, current provisions and where the gaps lie. The PNA will be used by NHS England (NHSE) to consider applications for new pharmacies, changes to existing ones, and to inform NHSE’s commissioned services. The document will also inform local commissioning decisions by service commissioners, the CCG, the Local Authority, and will be used as part of a Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) to inform future commissioning strategies.

Your comments will inform the final Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment which will be published in October 2022.

The consultations are open to anyone living in the boroughs (patient, consumer or community group), anyone providing pharmaceutical services in the boroughs, or anyone who has an interest in the provision of pharmaceutical services in the boroughs. 

The draft PNA for each borough is hosted on its Local Authority website, and consultation dates are as below:

  • Barnet consultation: 13 June - 12 August
  • Camden consultation: 8 June - 7 August
  • Enfield consultation: 13 June - 12 August
  • Haringey consultation: 20 June - 19 August
  • Islington consultation: 8 June - 7 August
