  • London Ambulance Service replace paper-based patient record with an electronic patient care record
Add to CPD

As part of the London Ambulance Service’s (LAS) digital transformation strategy, they are replacing the paper-based patient record form they use, with an electronic patient care record (ePCR).

The move will hugely enhance the way in which LAS transfers information, with the hope that this will provide GPs with access to a clear, concise and secure record of treatment and advice from their clinicians.

LAS has already begun implementing ePCR in phases. Initial training started in autumn, with the ambition that most clinical staff and volunteers will be using ePCR by winter 2020.

How to access the ePCR

To access the portal, all you need is:

  • an internet-enabled PC with Google Chrome
  • the case reference number and unique PIN from the Case Summary Access Card (given to the patient by our clinician after assessment)
  • patient’s date of birth

Further information about how to access the ePCR can be found in the ePCR GP pack (see below).

If you have any feedback or general questions about the ePCR, please contact LAS.
