Service description

The Whittington Health phlebotomy service remains open for urgent tests and for patients who need to come in for regular tests such as medication monitoring.
Please note: this is no longer a walk-in service. Appointments must be booked in advance using e-Referrals.

Please do not select 'defer to provider' when initiating the appointment process. This pathway is not in place for Whittington Health to contact your patients to book their phlebotomy appointments. Patients will not be allocated an appointment if 'defer to provider' is chosen.

Booking an appointment

  • Practices are asked to initiate the booking for their patients by the standard e-RS booking process used for outpatient appointments.
  • This reduces practice administration as patients can book their own appointments once provided with a UBRN and password.
  • See Downloads for the Whittington e-RS Phlebotomy Booking Guide.
  • Once in e-RS practices should choose diagnostic pathology selecting specialty 'blood test'.
  • Practices should then inform the patient of the generated UBRN and password along with the booking telephone line and online weblink. The patient can then book their appointment time.
  • Please do not select 'defer to provider' when initiating the appointment process for your patients.
  • There is no need to email blood test form.
  • Patients can book an appointment AFTER the request form has been sent.

See below full details of the clinics, including opening times.
