Handyperson and gardening

Age UK Barnet Handyperson Service provides practical help to older people in their homes, helping to maintain independence by helping to keep  homes safe and making adjustments to prevent falls. There is a charge for all jobs, apart from replacing lightbulbs and changing batteries for smoke alarms. The Gardening Service offers general garden maintenance. For both services, there is a charge of £25 per hour and £15 per hour for those on means tested and disability benefits. The handyperson and gardening team members are all vetted.

Finding your feet

A service to support older people get out again after they have been confined to home for a long time after a year of shielding. An individual is matched with a volunteer for four to six weeks who, through reassurance encouragement and companionship, will help build confidence for the person to go out on their own again.
