The Whittington Hospital cardiac diagnostic department is only seeing urgent ECG patients and only by appointment. This is a temporary measure and this service will be reinstated as soon as it is safe to do so.

Other cardiac tests can be requested via e-Referrals; referrals will be put on to a waiting list and triaged in order of clinical priority, once a slot becomes available patient will be contacted with an appointment.  

Service description

The following tests must be booked via e-Referrals

  • exercise tolerance tests
  • echocardiogram
  • 24-hour Holter monitoring
  • 24-hour ambulatory BP monitoring
  • seven-day event recorders

There is a waiting list. Referrals are triaged by clinical priority; once a slot becomes available the patient will be contacted with an appointment.

Please note: the ECG walk-in service is no longer available. 
Patients will need to call in to book an appointment. Patients will need to bring in their ECG referral on the day of their appointment.
