Connected Communities

Haringey
Add to CPD

Connected Communities is a programme set up to improve access to Council and Voluntary services and support in Haringey to encourage residents to live their version of a good life.

Connected Communities hopes to better understand the root causes of issues and support effective solutions to prevent escalation and the necessity for statutory interventions.

The offer

The programme can provide anyone in the borough support with:

  • Housing
  • Employment
  • English lessons (Adult learning)
  • Council Tax
  • Parenting and childcare
  • Benefits and financial advice
  • Getting involved in community activities and groups
  • Applying for the EU settlement Scheme

Where we are

Our team are based in community settings all over the borough to make services more accessible. We have two main locations where you will find someone from the team every day of the week:

  • Wood Green Library, Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm (ground floor)
  • Marcus Garvey Library, Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm (first floor)

Flexible locations

In addition to the two central hubs, we have a wide number of ‘flexible locations’ throughout the borough where we know we can meet and reach the greatest number of people across all client cohorts.

This model of working will create the opportunity to reach and target those people that do not require statutory intervention but do require low level interventions. Our flexible locations include:

  • Schools
  • GPs
  • Libraries
  • A&E (Accident and Emergencies) and hospitals
  • Cafes
  • Mulberry Junction (Single Homelessness Hub)
