Diabetes Patient Helpline

CamdenIslington
Add to CPD

NHS England and NHS Improvement have commissioned a dedicated diabetes helpline to support patients living with diabetes during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Advisers will be able to provide clinical guidance on a range of topics, including:

  • hypoglycaemia and hyperglycaemia
  • missed injections
  • sick day rules

The helpline is staffed by diabetes-trained healthcare professionals and is designed to provide clinical advice for adult, insulin-treated people with diabetes who require immediate clinical advice and are unable to access routine care as a result of Covid-19. The service is not a replacement for the routine care patients would normally receive from their usual care team.

  • adult diabetics
  • treated with insulin
  • unable to access normal care during Covid-19

Exclusions

  • children and young people
  • non-insulin dependent diabetics
