The service provides a residential mental health crisis response for women who would otherwise be admitted to hospital. Non-residential services are also offered to women who have stayed previously, including ongoing support groups, peer support space and a range of workshops for women throughout the year.

Up to 12 women and four children can be accommodated at any one time. Children are only accommodated with their mother or carer and are not the primary client.

The team works closely with primary care and highlights concerns regarding physical health issues that require intervention. Staff are all trained and supported to explore and validate disclosures of past or current trauma such as sexual, emotional or physical violence. The team also offers a range of coping techniques and self-help tools so women can learn to contain and manage any future crises.
