The Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) is an early intervention for first-time, young parents living in Islington, The programme's primary focus is improving the health and wellbeing of the mother and child in pregnancy, supporting parents' understanding of their child's development and encouraging parents to fulfil their aspirations for their baby and themselves. Additionally, the family nurses deliver the Healthy Child Programme, while supporting young parents to engage with local health services. At the point of graduation, when their child is aged two, the family's care will be transferred to their local Bright Start health-visiting service.

FNP format

A positive, optimistic and strength-based structured, intensive home visiting programme, delivered by family nurses (drawn from health visiting, midwifery and nursing).
