Low Vision Service

For adult patients who are struggling with daily living due to their vision. The patient does not have to be registered as sight-impaired.

The service offers:

  • a rehab service to help patients with everyday activities
  • a specialised eye-test service for adults with learning difficulties
  • domiciliary service for those who are housebound
  • low-vision assessments or learning disability eye tests carried out in the patient’s home or at the Low Vision Centre.

Eligibility criteria

Inclusions

People aged over 18:

  • living in Islington and/or registered with an Islington GP
  • with a sight problem after correction with standard glasses or contact lens
  • who experience difficulties in their normal daily activities as a result of visual impairment.

Exclusions

  • under 18s (this is an adult-only service).
