With You provides an Over 50s Alcohol Helpline to advise and support individuals aged over 50, concerned others, and professionals, who are worried about their own or someone else's drinking.

The freephone helpline is available seven days a week, t: 0808 801 0750

  • Monday to Friday 12pm-8pm, 10am-4pm at weekends.

For those reluctant to speak to a member of the team, there is a webchat service offering instant text-based help

  • Monday to Friday, 9am-9pm, Saturday and Sunday, 10am-4pm

The Over-50s Alcohol Helpline also offers an enhanced service for individuals who are considering making changes to their alcohol use. The enhanced service provision offers callers up to four additional appointments, during which time Helpline alcohol advisors use evidenced based interventions to support callers to achieve their goals.

There is also an over-50s alcohol health checker on the With You website, which GPs may wish to encourage individuals to use as it offers a simple overview of risk and how alcohol impacts on health. This tool offers tailored advice for staying healthy as individuals get older.
