Add to CPD

Coronavirus update

During the Covid-19 outbreak, the Havens is running a limited, essential service at Havens Camberwell and Paddington, where they will see clients in person for essential forensic medical examinations, and for urgent medical care that cannot be managed elsewhere.

Psychology, counselling, and Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) appointments will take place by phone or by video.

The phone lines remain open. Call 0203 299 1599 to speak to a member of our staff. They will arrange ongoing care, whether this is in person, by phone, or by video.

Please note: Haven Whitechapel remains closed until further notice.

Specialist sexual assault referral centres (SARC) for patients who have been raped or sexually assaulted in the past 12 months. Three centre cover London.

  • Camberwell Haven, near to King’s College Hospital (south)
  • Whitechapel Haven, near to Royal London Hospital (east)
  • Paddington Haven, near to St Mary’s Hospital (west)

The centres provide:

  • initial assessments
  • forensic medical examinations
  • follow-up care that includes counselling, tests and treatment
  • interpreters, including those for British Sign Language

The centre will tell you whether to advise your patient to go immediately to The Havens for medical care and/or a forensic medical examination, or to visit the centre at a later date for aftercare

If the patient needs to be seen urgently, the centre will aim to see them within 90 minutes of making the appointment.

In most circumstances, the centre will speak directly to the person being referred before making the appointment.
