Urgent child or adolescent referrals, including those with suspected new diagnoses such as epilepsy, can be referred to the University College London Hspitals' (UCLH) rapid referral clinic. This is a pre-booked service via e-referrals. GPs should not hesitate to telephone 07803 853 567, if they would find telephone advice helpful ahead of a referral.

An acutely ill child, who needs immediate attention, should be sent directly to the local emergency department.

GP referral via the e-Referral system (direct to hospital), patients cannot walk in with a referral.
