The Camden and Islington Young Carers Service (provided by Family Action) provides support for children and young people up to 18 years who have significant caring responsibility for a family member.

The service offers whole family support, alongside one-to-one support for young carers and works intensively with families for up to six months. The aim of the service is to reduce the caring role undertaken and improve the positive outcomes of the family as a whole.

Following referral, the service will carry out home visits to complete a whole family assessment exploring the care needs, caring role and its impact. Based on the outcome of this assessment they will work with the whole family, supporting the young carer and the person who needs care to reduce the role undertaken and any negative impacts associated.
